about kidsafe qld
Kidsafe (Child Accident Prevention Foundation of Australia) was established in 1979. Kidsafe is a national, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to preventing unintentional death and injury in children. Kidsafe seeks to raise public awareness about child safety and to educate parents and others who care for children as well as children themselves about the existence of hazards and how to avoid them.
Kidsafe works at national, state and local levels and in co-operation with government, industry, non-government and voluntary organisations, community groups and individuals.
Each day on average 5000 children require medial attention, 170 children are admitted to hospital and 1 child each day dies as a result of an accident. Injury is the leading cause of death in Australian children aged one to fourteen.
Since it’s inception Kidsafe has helped make a difference with the number of children killed in Australia being halved in this time. Kidsafe Qld provides Queensland families with services, information and resources to help make the environment safer for all children. Remember Child Safety is No Accident.
Kidsafe Qld relies on your support to continue our valuable work. All donations are tax deductible.
